Transient Portraits
This series of mono-prints on Chinese traditional rice paper is a visual exploration expressing the hybridity of diasporic identities. “Transient Portrait” is an experiment that explores with archived photographs, photos taken throughout the life of a Chinese Canadian. By overlaying prints of significant moments, this project aims to metaphorically demonstrate the conflict, erosion, and inter-growth of cultures and identities.

Perpetual Shuttling: An Investigation into Design for Chinese Diasporic Identities in Negotiation
This project is a subjective visual narrative of the Chinese Canadian community. Using images from my personal archive, I intend to embody the de-territorializing of “Chinese-ness.” Perpetual Shuttling expresses the temporary, fragmentary, and ambiguous qualities of diaspora lives, while asserting a self-proclaiming stance in the discourse of Chinese Canadian diaspora identity and culture.
